Tsunami alarms should be placed more around Christchurch

 I think Tsunami alarms should be placed on every 2-4 blocks. It's dangerous that some people can't hear the alarms in a emergency.

If there was an earthquake anywhere and we expected a tsunami, people out of brighton may not have been warned or could not hear the alarm and may drown or get badly hurt.     It can even be hard for some people just out of Brighton to hear.

Animals may drown or get injured because they can not get saved know matter how much they bark at us cause they can hear the alarm.

Altogether I think the government should add more tsunami alarms around Christchurch and all over new Zealand .

Parce the parcel

Goal:To get the parcel to land on you and get the big prize

What you need:

Scellor tape, 10- 20 layers of newspaper, A bag of your choice of lollies, Some jewllery or small toys, A big cool prize, 5-15 people, some way of playing music, 

Method:

1.Get out a labor of newspaper and lay on table.

2. Take your big prize and place on newspaper.

3.Scellor tape up the newspaper so you can't see the prize.

4.do this over but to small bits of candy or toys.

Best trip to Aussie

On friday the last day of school I went to Australia with everyone on my Dads side of the family,thats 20 of us!We went there to celebrate Nana and Grandads 50th aniversery.
We went to Airlie Beach in Queensland and as soon as we got there we jumped in the pool we all swam for 2 hours.
then we got on a ship and went to Hamilton Island for the day.
we went on a bus to get to the zoo at the zoo I saw a bird called freddy I said to him hello freddy and he  said goodbye Freddy.
Then we saw the koalas,they smelled really bad  but they were funny,cute and cuddly.
after that we went to see the wallaby's so Dad wet to get food so Jaimie and I could feed them.We got to feed Annabell the wallaby she was so sweet and her fur was as soft as candy floss.
Then we went to the pool it was cold like an iceburg!
I swam across the pool and found a bar but the drinks were to expensive so i couldn't buy one.
At 4.00pm we left the island.While we were on the boat i saw a ship carrying palm trees to White Haven  Island for the movie pirates of the caribbean.
I had a fantastic time there I hope we can go next year it was a great time for the family.

Grace's dancing report. 20/5/15

This week we are doing dancing with the stars. I split my knee open so couldn't do dancing😥 I am going to be your reporter. Today we doing this thing the girls on one side and the boys are on the other side. The girls do open and behind with their legs and the boys do open across. It sorta looks likes ball dancing. Now they are doing  the boy and the girl hold the opposite  hand and they bend down put there hand down like the are doing a bridge and then they're holding both hands and twisting their bodies and bending down. Every one is laughing and having fun😇the people who do it are so much fun but I don't know their name.

In reading i am learning about predicting it means painting a picture in your head before you read the book you predict whats going to happen.

Now im learning summerising i don't know much about it yet.

Ash Wednesday

Today was ash Wednesday when the school bell rang the whole school walked into church.
The intermediates talked about Ash Wednesday.
Then we walked up to Mrs. Rooney, she put her finger in a bowl of ash's and made a cross on our forehead.
The ash's were a grey mixed with black colour the cross on my forehead it really tickled and felt weird but it stayed on till morning tea.
Ash wednesday is a time for a new beginning to your life.
It's the time when Jesus went to the desert for 40 days the whole of lent to talk to God his father he went to get ready for his death on the cross.

It was an amazing first day in room 3 at school Made some new friends and saw a few old friends. The class room looked really cool and different . When we all got to school we all got to pick are own desks. I had a great first day at school! And I'm exited for the year!

Being reliable is trusting someone to do something for you.

Like if you asked someone to put your cardigan away in your bag for you and they did it then you would be being reliable.

Surf life saving

In the weekend I went to a surf life saving competition. 

When I got there it was windy but I'm lucky I was wearing a wet suit.

The first part of it was the board race in the sea. 

I ran and ran as fast as I could then hopped on my board and paddled as fast as I could I came 4th I did really well it was fun☺☺☺💜

Island holiday

On the school holidays mum,dad and I found a mystery island. 

So we went to explore it when we got there there was a little bush.

When we went inside we saw lots of birds like parrots,fantails,blackbirds and more.

Then at the end of the bush we saw a beach on the beach was Malia and her family.!!!.

I  said hi to Malia  she said that she brang a friend that was Chloe.

We played on the island all day but then it was time to go.

The giraffes

On Wednesday 5th February room 3-1 went to Orana park.

When we got there we went over to the giraffes.
I heard that people kill giraffes just to get there tails!.
And I also heard that there necks are used for fighting with other mails they swish there long neck and bang it.
The giraffe who has the longest neck wins and gets the women and becomes a father we had an awsome time there it was fun. by Hayley.
